Washington DC, Nov 10, 2009: KHNA is pleased to report on a very warm get-together of the new office bearers,
directors and trustees with the outgoing KHNA committee members at the "Shubhaarambham" meeting on November 7th,
2009 at Beltsville, MD, on the outskirts of Washington DC. The new President, M. G. Menon (Washington DC) took
charge of the operations for the next two years which will culminate in the 2011 convention at the US capital city.
The new Vice President, Satheesan Nair (Chicago), Secretary Suda Kartha (Philadelphia), Joint Secretary Ratheesh
Nair (Washington DC), Treasurer Viswanatha Pillai (Philadelphia), Joint Treasurer Ganesh Nair (New York, NY) and
Youth Chair Nandakumar Menon (Washington DC) will be the chief elected office-bearers, along with Dr. Muralee
Rajan, who will be the Chair for the next convention. Raju Nanoo (New York) is the new trustee board chairman,
and Prof. R. Jayakrishnan (Los Angeles) the Vice-chair. The meeting was attended by a majority of the new directors
and trustees. The outgoing President Dr. Ramadas Pillai (Los Angeles), Secretary Vinodh Bahuleyan (Los Angeles),
Outgoing Trustee chair T.N. Nair (Dallas), Vice Chair Govindan Janardhanan (New York) and Trustees' Secretary
Presannan Pillai (Chicago) took part in handing over charge. A surprise guest and speaker at the function was the
popular Malayalam film actor, Sri. Suresh Gopi. The speakers included the Washington DC leaders such as Ramesan
Pillai, Krishnan Namboothiry and Dr. Raghu Nath, and the day's events included several cultural and arts performances.
