KHNA Phoenix, Arizona Meeting

KHNA Get-together in Phoenix, AZ, Dec 1, 2007: Under the auspices of KHNA, a joint monthly bhajan and ayyappa pooja were conducted between the OHM group from Los Angeles (LA), and the hindu Malayalee community at Phoenix, Arizona, on December 1st, 2007. The event was kindly hosted by Anish & Beena at their suburban residence in Phoenix. The meeting was organized with the generous help of Mr Satheesh Ambadi, Muralidharan, Binoy Warrier, and others from the burgeoning hindu malayalee community in Phoenix. Drs Usha & Padmanabha Iyer from LA took the lead in conducting the ceremonies. The serene and friendly atmosphere was a perfect setting for the groups from Los Angeles and Phoenix to acquaint with one another. Nearly 20 families from Phoenix and 8 families from LA attended the event, which included participation from many children who sang bhajans praising Lord Ayyaappa. It gave the KHNA leadership a wonderful opportunity to present the upcoming activities of KHNA in 2008 and the future plans for the LA convention of 2009. KHNA President Dr. Ramadas Pillai, secretary Vinodh Bahuleyan, Joint treasurer Balakrishnan Panicker, Trustees Dr. Padmanabha Iyer and Prof. R. Jayakrishnan, and directors Ravi Vellatheri and Dr. Ravi Raghavan made the travel to Phoenix, along with Cultural committee chair Dr Sindu Pillai. Video highlights of the past two convensions were shown during the dinner and discussion ensued on joint activities towards strengthening the community. The Phoenix group has graciously promised to provide all the help they can towards making upcoming KHNA activities and the next convention big successes.
